I'm trying to get into some stock trading and I know that it involves a lot of research to do well but I'm no sure how to go about it. What are some good news sources that can help me know what's gong on financially in the world? Does anyone know of any great books to teach people how to start online trading? I have taken a few economics classes but that's as far as my knowledge on the subject goes, so any books you thought were beneficial will be appreciated.

While at MSN following the strategy lab analysts to get a feel for what the pros are doing and why. This site has some basic information for beginners. If any site offers free information, take it.

I've been investing for about fifteen years, although the first few weren't very profitable. I think the easiest book I ever read was Stan Weinstein's "Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets".

It shows you the basic concepts of how to pick what stocks to invest in. I started out trying to find bargains, and ended up with companies that were out of favor and had deteriorating finances. You're better off to buy good companies, and his book shows you a strategy for making money consistently.
