i have a bit of money in yen (japanese money) that i wanted to exchange for us dollars. where is the cheapest place to do so? and if i have to exchange at a bank, do i have to have an account at the bank to do so? because i'm only 16 so of course i don't have an account.
i'm not a foreigner aka i won't be at any airports any time soon. but thank u to whoever wrote the second answer :)

No, you don't have to have an account but they will require photo ID and may refuse to repurchase as you are under 18 and not a traveller. It depends on the banks policy, you can only go in and ask, but you will defiantly need some ID on you. Other places exchange currency, like Western Union, but you will get a better rate from a bank.
